[STAFF SPOTLIGHT] How to Use a School-Wide System to Cut Behavior Referrals by 90%

interventions spotlight staff wellness room

Bridget Schroedel is an assistant principal at Park Orchard Elementary in Kent School District. She is an innovative administrator bringing simple tools and interventions to her school and community that are creating massive impact. And she believes that discipline means to teach, not to shame.

In this episode of the GW Spotlight, we shine a light on Bridget, as she shares the story of how she and her staff dedicated an entire classroom to teaching and learning self-regulation after having attended a Generation Wellness Training. Since then, their behavior referrals have decreased by 50% in just four months of implementation, and by the third year of implementation her school had decreased behavior referrals by 90%.

Click play to watch the video above which highlights:

  • How the GW Training has provided her with the tools necessary for positive change
  • The importance of teaching wellness and self-regulation to students just as much as academics
  • How staff can learn about wellness and model it for their students as well
  • How Park Orchard has implemented GW tools in their school

Thank you for your dedication to a generation of wellness and sharing your shine with the world! You're truly a Wellness Warrior, Bridget!
